When a young man suffering from an eating disorder is pressured to eat breakfast by his boyfriend, the couple are thrust into an otherworld where their anxieties and frustrations are made horrifyingly real.
BREAKFAST, produced by Polygraphic Productions, is a queer psychological horror short film written and directed by Tyler Byrnes, featuring Alton Alburo and Tommy Bernardi. Subject matters of eating disorders and male body image intersect with themes of anxiety and fear. Uncanny stop-motion animation and industrial aesthetics disturb images of the body.
The film is competing in the festival circuit, with five awards and twenty two official selections as of June 2017. The film has screened in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Amsterdam, Chicago, Hartford, Oxford, Ottawa, Tampa and elsewhere.
